Founded in 2014 by Dr. Anet Potgieter, The Agents Group (Pty) Ltd builds on over a decade of research and development. Starting with The Agents Laboratory 2002 and the Robotics and Agents Lab in 2007 at the University of Cape Town, these initiatives laid the foundation for Complex Adaptive Intelligence (CAI)—a technology inspired by biological systems that enables autonomous adaptation in complex environments.
At the core of our innovation is Complex Adaptive Intelligence (CAI), which powers the Artificial Mind Engine (AME)—a platform designed to operate autonomously, learn continuously, and adapt in real-time.
We design systems for organisations that operate where every decision matters. From public safety to healthcare, industrial operations, and environmental monitoring, our technology ensures data is processed responsibly, decisions are auditable, and outcomes are adaptive.
Our system is able to learn and adapt intelligently in dynamic, complex environments
The ensemble of inputs from the agents or COGs share insights to generate more adaptive responses.
SRAA - The Sense–Reason–Act Loop uses autonomous agents to sense events, reason with AI analytics to spot patterns, and act by triggering alerts or workflows.
KAIZEN - The KAIZEN Orchestration Platform is an enterprise-grade workflow orchestrator that coordinates data, automates actions, and ensures timely responses (compliance, alerts) via a flexible rules engine and robust integration backbone.
The research and development subsidiary of the Agents Group, which started in the Robotics and Agents Lab at the University of Cape Town. It is home to the Agents Group research fellows.
